The loss of my bright, sensitive 16-year-old son Rand was the hardest, most gut-wrenching pain I could ever imagine. Heavy days and fitful nights of heartache.

If you are here reading this, you’ve likely lost a child to an overdose… or know someone who has.

And maybe like I have… you’re experiencing a constant loop of questions in your mind:

“How did this happen??” “What more could I have done?” “Was it my fault? My family’s fault?” “Why couldn’t we get the right help? “What if people think my child was just a drug addict?” “What other terrible things are going to happen??”

If any of this sounds familiar, you are not alone.

But I want you to know that not only is there hope for healing… there’s help.

First, please know…

I didn't lose my son by overdose--he died by suicide. But while mentoring other moms like me, I got calls & emails from mothers facing loss by overdose, asking, “Will you please create a group for us, too?

For many personal reasons I said YES... I’m no stranger to addiction. In my 20’s I lost my sweet mother to alcohol when she was 48. My former husband also struggled, mixing prescription drugs with alcohol. And, I have dear friends who’ve lost a child by drug overdose.

With every newscast & article about this national epidemic, I want to shout, “This has GOT to stop!!” There is so much to DO to end the crisis.

All the more important for moms to put the oxygen mask on OURSELVES first

But let me take you back to the time before 2004, before Rand ended his life.

I’d been leading intensives across the US for years, helping people navigate through the darkest of times. I felt called to provide a safe space for sharing and tools to empower people to reclaim their lives.

All the while, I had no clue as to the personal tragedy that lay ahead in my own life.

When the worst hit home, the pain was beyond… Yet at the same time I was remarkably fortunate to have a powerful set of tools to help me handle the intensity.

But at the same time, I realized it wasn’t enough…

Over the next 12 years, I committed to learn everything I could to help people recover and thrive again:

  • Completing graduate school, focusing on neuroscience & trauma healing
  • Gaining certifications in integrative health & mind/body medicine
  • Continuing to lead intensives in the US and internationally
  • Speaking & leading workshops at national suicide prevention conferences
  • Working with dear friend Iris Bolton, a leader in suicide prevention & aftercare, co-producing Iris's Voices of Healing and Hope DVD

From these experiences I created the MindPeace Method … A fully integrative approach designed for healing mind, body and spirit. Especially when life doesn’t go the way we planned.

Now I want to give it to you.

Hello, I'm Elaine Alpert.

After Rand ended his life, I clearly remember my deep wish of wanting nothing more than to rewrite history and bring my son back. But of course we humans aren’t endowed with such power.

However... we do have very real and powerful resources to heal the pain, the regrets, and the sense of brokenness you may be feeling.

In my work with people over time, here’s what I’ve come to know:

It’s human nature to take something that is already very hard to bear... and make it even harder.

It’s not that we mean to suffer more, but this is what happens…

1

Crucially, there is the loss itself. Your grief is real, painfully so. Whether accidental or intentional, your child didn’t survive the use of drugs or alcohol, and you feel the devastation.

2

Then you wonder if there was something more you could’ve done to save them. Rehearsing what you should have done, what your child should’ve done, what others could’ve done is... exhausting.

3

On top of it all, you may agonize over how you’re ever going to get through this. And stressed out about what else could be around the corner?

At end of the day, we’re left with the maddening question,“Why did any of this have to happen?”

It’s common to add even more suffering on top of our heartbreak.

In this downward spiral, we feel overwhelmed, dispirited and alone. Since there is no way to change what’s happened… we feel stuck in the pain. But, there is also good news here – you don’t have to get trapped in that cycle and prolong your grief.

I am here to tell you… You can find peace and even joy, again.

That’s why I’m inviting you to join me in a special program utilizing the MindPeace Method®

In this 4-week online program, we’ll go beyond ‘telling the story.’ I will show you how to take charge of your own healing journey.

We’ll address key issues:

A Mom shares about her loss & working with Elaine...

"My greatest fear became a reality when I lost my 18-year-old son, Julian, on Mother’s Day 2015 to an overdose while away at college. His death was the culmination of struggles with mental health issues and using drugs to self-medicate. But it came as such a shock because he’d been doing so well at college and seemed the happiest I’d ever seen him. For the first time in a very long time I had real hope. After he died I wondered what I had missed, if I'd ‘fallen asleep’ on my watch.

Thankfully, I knew what Elaine had been through with her loss. I knew she got it. Elaine was a role model with the qualities I wanted for myself. The tools she teaches not only saved me but changed my life in such positive ways. I finished graduate school and can clearly see my new purpose. I feel very connected to my family, and I’m content with my mothering. I no longer feel weighed down by guilt. I miss Julian, of course, and yet I feel very connected to him.

This program is the oxygen mask to put on yourself before you can put it on anyone else. I have hope for my own future and for the future of my family. I know this is what Julian wants for me!"

-- Renee Hall-George, Atlanta, GA

“After each session I go back and look at the videos and take notes. I’ll treasure these notes, and reread them because of what I've learned here. When things get hard I know I have tools to help me again!” -- C.R.

“I feel like I'm growing now versus the last five years. It was that same narrow pathway over and over, suffering with guilt and unable to have real fun. I pretended a lot. This is the first time, through this course and after having my private session, that I've felt more peaceful and free.” -- M.S.

“The processes I have learned from Elaine have had profound and lasting effects. I have done a lot of work with therapies, workshops, group work, etc but Elaine’s ability to get to the heart of the matter and her techniques for healing are amazingly efficient, deep and immediate.” -- J.H.

About Elaine...

Rand ended his life on my younger son’s 9th birthday, which threw an extra layer of heartache into the mix for all of us. He's now 22 and doing well in college. I’m also happy to say that my husband Tom and I are celebrating our 30th anniversary this year. We’ve deepened our connection and made it through a very tough set of years together which included his cancer diagnosis and the loss of his homebuilding business during the national housing crisis.

If Tom and I had not used the MindPeace Method™ I don’t know where we’d be today… likely our marriage would have suffered beyond repair. Anybody living with the loss of a child knows the inherent challenges.

More about Elaine here.

Now it can be your turn to have this powerful program. Use it not only for yourself, but also for how this could impact your family, friends and workplace. Please, use these tools for the rest of your life!

“Elaine’s life’s work is sharing her own earned strength, wisdom and courage, and we are lucky to be recipients of those gifts!” -- S.V.

“I learned so much and now I feel safe getting back to my life again. I would trust Elaine with any issue I was having. She is amazingly respectful of everyone.” -- A.N.

“These past few weeks with Elaine have absolutely changed the view-finder on my life.” -- A.VT.

“I now feel untangled and unknotted... I can stand up straighter, my neck stopped hurting, my jaw is better, and I can actually exercise... The connection with all the other moms is very healing, solid foundation for me.” -- M.R.

“I've been to every single place there is for healing, but most of my healing has come through your workshops. It has made such a difference that I just want to go out and tell the world!” -- M.S.

“The past doesn’t creep up behind me and pull me under the waves of depression like it used to. Elaine’s classes were a catalyst for this tremendous change!” -- K.C.

FAQ's

How is this different from a support group? This program meets online from any location in the world with internet. It provides proprietary tools and a step-by-step method for dealing with regrets, fear, relentless questions, guilt, shame, emotional & physical pain. Since you get Recordings & Handouts from every Session, you can continue to use these tools in multiple areas of your life: Family, Health, Finances & Work.

I prefer groups in-person. Won’t being ONLINE with such sensitive topics feel weird? For years the ONLY groups I led were in person so I had the same concern. However, 'Zoom' technology is far better than you might imagine. Everyone who wants to be on video can see each other--kind of like Hollywood Squares, we each appear in a ‘box’ on your screen. (You may have seen Oprah use this technology?) I often hear women say they are surprised at how connecting it is, even moms who first resisted the idea. I work with mothers all over the country who are SO grateful to have found this community where they feel understood, safe and supported. And all without having to forfeit the ease of being at home.

(Please Note: I do offer in-person Weekend Workshops. Women travel to be together, create close bonds and further expand their healing. 'Pathway to Peace of Mind' is a prerequisite.)

Some days I don’t feel like sharing or being seen. Will this still work for me? Creating a welcoming and respectful environment for the group is my #1 Priority. You can test the waters and see how it feels for you. You can also turn your video off and listen only. There’s no requirement to join the Facebook group. You can also skip a Session and access the Recording instead. And, sometimes when we are feeling really low, it's actually the best time to remember we are not alone... and make the stretch to come to the live Session.

Can I really make significant progress in the course? Absolutely, if you take advantage of what’s here. The tools can be used for a month or a lifetime. This course is intentionally set up as a one-month experience that can bring you a lot of power and energy in a short timeframe. If you miss any of the sessions you can return to the recordings. Lastly, you can make connections with other moms going through a similar loss--friendships you may keep for life.

What if I can’t attend live Sessions? Many people have to miss one or more Sessions due to conflicts. The recordings will provide how-to’s for the tools I teach. My sessions tend to have a natural flow with real connection; you are likely to feel as if you are present. You can also ask me questions in the Facebook group or Private Message me anytime on Facebook Messenger.

Since this is grief-related, why is there a charge? Pathway to Peace of Mind is a tool-based step-by-step online program, rather than a local support group supported by volunteers. And unlike regular online programs, no sessions are pre-recorded. Each session is unique; I not only teach the tools but address the particular needs of the women who are present. I'm aware that some parents are significantly affected by costs related to addiction, health and work. Therefore I founded a 501c3 nonprofit called 'MindPeace for Life' to accept donations and provide programs to people who need financial support. The nonprofit's misson is to support mothers and families through tool-based educational programs, helping them go beyond surviving major life challenges to thriving, by developing deep meaning, purpose, joy and gratitude for life once again.

Elaine is a healer at heart… that is her life’s work. But more importantly, she has taught me how to heal myself. What really makes Elaine stand apart is not only what she delivers but also the caring and compassion she has for the people she works with.” -- J.N.

And I want you to know …

In a 4-week course I can’t teach you everything I used to heal my life after major loss. However I’ve carefully selected what I believe will give you the most benefit in a brief timeframe.

If you are ready to try something unique and powerful to make progress, join me. Not only will you be taking care of yourself by learning a new way through these difficult times, you can lovingly impact the people around you in a very positive way, too.

Soon after you register, you can schedule your appointment with Elaine. Private session by Phone, Skype or Zoom.
